I purchased the ZVOX 575 because I have a 58″ plasma in a fairly large room so the other ZVOX models weren’t appropriate for my set up. Background: I have a Onkyo receiver and 5.1 surround in another room hooked up to a 42″ plasma. Initially I thought the surround sound was great – loved it while watching movies, enjoyed the theatre like surrounding sound which made you feel like you were a part of the action. After the initial thrill, I realized that I was missing half the dialogue and constantly trying to send more sound to the center channel in order to hear what the actors were saying. Pretty soon I got sick of moving the wires and speakers each time I dusted or vacuumed or washed the floor. Also, the bass was so booming (regardless of how I adjusted it) that it would disturb sleepers located in the upstairs bedrooms (the room is directly under the bedrooms upstairs) if the movie was high action. I purchased the ZVOX 575 after a great deal of research online and auditioning competing products. We have a 7.1 surround system in a home theater and I was looking for something simple with great sound for our bedroom. I am very picky about sound. I auditioned the Bose products and even the B&W Panamera sound bar that retails for 00. The Bose sounded OK but not great. The B&W sounded good but to my ear not worth 00. I purchased the ZVOX 575 SHD (which has a digital optical audio input) site unseen and unheard. The sound is GREAT. It cannot be compared to a full surround system because that is not what it is. It is rather large but we use it as base for a 46″ LED flat panel. The base response is great and there is a nice soundstage. I have watched movies, DVD concerts, Blue Rays and HD Satelite broadcasts. If you are looking for great sound, easy hook-up with 1 wire, and can accept that you will not get a true surround system without multiple speakers then you should…

It all started when I was looking for a pair of stereo speakers for our tv in the bedroom because the tv speakers just didn’t cut it. I was using google when you website came up. I started reading about ZVOX and the 325 description sounded pretty good, so I thought I would try it. You were right! It’s way more sound than just a pair of stereo speakers would have been and the sound was unbelievable. I had a top-of-the-line BOSE system in my clubroom, which sounded super, however, electronics are surpassing my understanding and I really didn’t know how to use all the features after I purchased it. Then I received an email from you about the new 575. It sounded like it would produce a fantastic sound (especially based on the 325 we already had), so I sold my BOSE (at a considerable loss) and purchased the 575. I have not been sorry to this day. The sound is fantastic and it is so simple to use, even I can figure it out. And that’s where I stand today. |
